Jamaican-born British actor Micheal Ward, best known for his role in the hit series *Top Boy*, has been formally charged with multiple sexual offences, including two counts of rape.
The 27-year-old actor, who has also featured in several acclaimed films, is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Ward, a resident of Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, faces two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault. The charges stem from allegations involving a single woman, with the incidents reportedly occurring in January 2023.
Detective Superintendent Scott Ware, leading the investigation for the Metropolitan Police, stated:
“Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward. We understand the profound impact investigations of this nature can have on victims.”
Catherine Baccas, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South, confirmed:
“After a thorough review of the evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service has authorized charges against Micheal Ward in relation to serious sexual offences involving one woman. He is due to appear in court on Thursday, August 28.”
Baccas emphasized the importance of a fair trial, urging the public and media:
“We remind everyone that the legal proceedings are active, and the defendant is entitled to a fair trial. Any reporting, commentary, or online sharing that could prejudice the case must be avoided.”
The case is now in the hands of the judicial system, with further updates expected following Ward’s court appearance.
