New Storm Hits Tyler Perry Studios: Actor Alleges Rape And Cover-Up By Senior Executive

Just weeks after actor Derek Dixon accused Tyler Perry of sexual assault, another disturbing allegation has rocked the entertainment mogul’s empire. Actor and U.S. Army veteran Braxton Demarco Wells, known for his role in The Oval, has come forward with claims of abuse at the hands of Mark E. Swinton, the Senior Vice President of Scripted Programming at Tyler Perry Studios.

In an emotional and detailed Instagram post, Wells alleges that he was flown from Los Angeles to Georgia under false pretenses, only to be groomed and sexually assaulted by Swinton. He also claims that Tyler Perry was aware of the incident but chose to remain silent — and even went so far as to involve his legal team in a bid to force Wells into signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

"Mark E. Swinton, you groomed and raped me while I was under your influence, flying me from Los Angeles to Georgia under false pretenses," Wells wrote. "You abused your position as Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios — a company that claims to stand for faith — to commit unspeakable evil behind closed doors."

Wells did not spare Perry in his statement, accusing the media mogul of choosing brand protection over accountability.
"Tyler Perry, you built your empire on the image of a God-fearing man, yet when darkness crept in through your own executive, you chose silence," he wrote. "You retained a predator in your house and helped cover it up, protecting your brand over a broken human life. That’s not faith — that’s fraud. Yahweh Elohim sees all. He is not mocked."

Wells is now demanding the NDA be nullified and says he intends to file a lawsuit against Swinton and others for rape, emotional distress, and legal malpractice.

Neither Swinton nor Perry has publicly responded to the explosive claims.

This new allegation comes on the heels of a similar accusation from actor Derek Dixon, also of The Oval, who filed a lawsuit last month claiming he was sexually assaulted by Perry after the two met at an event in 2019.

Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, responded to Dixon’s lawsuit by saying, "This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail."

As of now, the growing storm surrounding Tyler Perry Studios has sparked serious questions — not just about the conduct of its executives, but about how such serious allegations will be handled by one of Hollywood’s most powerful figures.
