Ciara Becomes A Citizen Of Benin In Powerful UN Ceremony

Singer and global icon Ciara is now officially a citizen of the Republic of Benin.

On July 26, 2025, the Grammy-winning artist received her citizenship certificate during a moving ceremony commemorating the United Nations Day for Women and Girls of African Descent. The event, held in the West African nation, symbolized a deepening bond between Ciara and the continent.

Clips from the ceremony were shared by Ciara on Instagram on July 28, capturing the emotional and historic moment. She ended her post with a proud declaration: “I am Beninoise.”
