Kelly Osbourne Mourns The Death Of Her Rock Legend Father, Ozzy Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence following the death of her father, iconic rock star Ozzy Osbourne, sharing an emotional tribute on Instagram.

"I feel unhappy, I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had," she wrote in her Instagram Story, quoting the lyrics from Changes, a Black Sabbath classic. The song originally appeared on the band's 1972 album Vol. 4, but was reimagined in 2003 when Ozzy and Kelly recorded a heartfelt duet, turning it from a breakup ballad into a moving portrayal of a father and daughter growing apart.

Ozzy Osbourne, known as the "Prince of Darkness" and a pioneer of heavy metal, died on Tuesday at the age of 76. In a family statement, his loved ones shared that he passed peacefully, “surrounded by love.” No cause of death has been announced.

Before the family's hit reality show The Osbournes aired from 2002 to 2005, Ozzy was infamous for his wild stage antics—most notably the moment he bit the head off a live bat, believing it was a toy. But the show offered fans a different view: a soft-spoken, often bewildered dad who shuffled around the house and warned his kids about the dangers of drugs.

Ozzy’s relationship with his children, particularly Kelly and Jack, became a central part of his public persona in later years. His deep bond with Kelly remained until the very end.

Just weeks before his passing, Ozzy attended a milestone moment in Kelly’s life—her engagement to long-time partner, Slipknot musician Sid Wilson. The proposal took place in Birmingham, England, after what would become Ozzy’s final public performance.

Kelly shared a video of the engagement, capturing the emotional moment Wilson got down on one knee in front of family and friends, including her parents.

“Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world,” Wilson said, before Ozzy playfully interrupted: “F\*\*k off, you’re not marrying my daughter.”

Laughter filled the room as Wilson continued, “Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?”

The couple, together since 2022 and parents to their young son, Sidney, embraced as friends and family cheered.

As the world says goodbye to a legend, Kelly mourns not just a rock icon, but her hero—her father, her friend.
