Rihanna Stuns With Third Pregnancy Reveal At The Met Gala
After making headlines with a dramatic second pregnancy reveal during her 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, Rihanna has now announced her third pregnancy — and once again, in unforgettable fashion.
The global superstar was the final guest to arrive at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2025 Met Gala, turning heads in a striking pinstripe Marc Jacobs ensemble. Her outfit, featuring a polka-dot cravat and an oversized hat, perfectly highlighted her baby bump, stealing the show at an already historic event.
This year’s Met Gala, co-chaired by Rihanna’s partner A$AP Rocky, celebrated the vibrancy of Black style and dandyism, inspired by the Costume Institute’s exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. A$AP Rocky, who arrived hours earlier, sported a self-designed outfit he described to Vogue as "a bit of Harlem Nights," a nod to Eddie Murphy’s 1989 classic. He accessorized his look with an umbrella and red-soled Christian Louboutin shoes. The couple already shares two sons.
Earlier that day, Rihanna was spotted walking through rainy New York in a gray-blue cropped top and skirt combo, accented with a fur stole and a 1920s-style cloche hat — her visible baby bump quickly setting social media ablaze.
On the Met Gala carpet, A$AP Rocky confirmed the joyous news to Reuters, saying it “feels amazing” to share Rihanna’s pregnancy at such a major event. (CNN has reached out to Rihanna’s team for further comment.)
Rihanna wasn't the only star sharing pregnancy news on the red carpet. Model Karlie Kloss, pregnant with her third child, also debuted her bump, stunning in a black jacket with high lapels — her first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy in March.
The Met Gala has increasingly become a stage for pregnancy reveals. Last year, model Adwoa Aboah revealed her pregnancy in a dramatic ruffled red two-piece. Tennis legend Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss herself made similar announcements at the 2023 Gala. "There's three of us here," Williams memorably told La La Anthony during Vogue’s live red carpet broadcast. "I can stop hiding now," she added.
Rihanna herself made waves at last year’s Met Gala, arriving last and shutting down the carpet in an all-white Valentino gown with a camellia-adorned hooded coat, later revealing her growing baby bump underneath.
The Fenty Beauty founder has revolutionized maternity fashion, pushing boundaries with bold looks throughout her pregnancies. Whether wearing a sheer skirt over a thong at Dior’s Fall-Winter 2022 show or a metallic fringe set by The Attico, Rihanna has refused to let pregnancy tame her signature style.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to shop in the maternity aisle,’” she told Vogue for their May 2022 cover story. “I’m sorry — it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”
Her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance outfit — an all-red ensemble featuring an unzipped flight suit, matching catsuit, and sculpted leather corset designed by Loewe — instantly entered pop culture lore.
Once again, Rihanna proves that when it comes to fashion, motherhood, and making history, she’s in a league of her own.
