Corps Member In Lagos Raises Alarm Over Threats After Criticizing Government
A serving corps member in Lagos State has raised alarm after allegedly receiving threatening messages from her superiors.
This came after she shared a video on social media criticizing the Tinubu-led government over the soaring cost of living.
In the widely circulated video posted on her TikTok account (@talktoraye), the corps member voiced her frustration over Nigeria's worsening economic situation and how it’s affecting her as a corps member.
She explained that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme has offered little benefit to her, as she often spends more than the allowance she receives to cover basic expenses.
Hours after posting the video, she shared another clip claiming she had been receiving threats, allegedly from NYSC officials. She even shared a recorded phone conversation in which a person, believed to be an NYSC official, scolded her for speaking out.
In the audio, the alleged NYSC official could be heard saying, “Are you normal? Keep quiet and take down the video you posted.”
She also shared screenshots of threatening messages on her Instagram page (@iamraye__).
So far, the NYSC has not responded to the allegations.
