McGregor Vs. Chandler Tickets Exceed Four Times The Average Cost For Record-Breaking UFC Card

The Ultimate Fighter Season 31: Team McGregor vs. Team Chandler

McGregor and Chandler will face off June 29.

Tickets for UFC 303: McGregor vs. Chandler have reached an average secondary market price of $4,068 ahead of its June 29 date, according to TicketIQ, a high price tag created by the highly anticipated return of Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor after three years away from the octagon.

KEY FACTS

UFC 303’s average ticket price is more than four times the average for UFC tickets as a whole, which is $843, according to data from SeatGeek.

The cheapest ticket for the fight between McGregor and No. 6 lightweight Michael Chandler is $1,084.00 on the secondary market, with the most expensive ticket being $42,427.

The high ticket prices have contributed to UFC 303’s whopping live gate (ticket sales), which is “already way over $20 million,” according to UFC President Dana White, who shared the number at a May press conference.

If UFC 303 exceeds a $20 million live gate, it would mark the promotion’s highest ticket sales ever for a single event, crushing its current record of $17.7 million achieved by UFC 205 in 2016, when McGregor captured the lightweight title to become one of only four fighters to hold two titles at the same time.

3,199 secondary market tickets still remain for UFC 303, according to TicketIQ, with the card taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

KEY BACKGROUND

The bout between McGregor and Chandler will take place at welterweight (175 lbs.), one weight class above their usual, which is lightweight (155 lbs.) McGregor has not fought since July 2021, when he lost to then-No. 1 lightweight Dustin Poirier. Since then, McGregor has focused on running his liquor business, Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, and starred in a 2024 remake of “Road House” alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. In addition to anticipating McGregor’s return, fan excitement has also been generated by his and Chandler’s fighting styles, which favor stand-up, fisticuff fights instead of grappling or wrestling on the ground, increasing the likelihood of the fight ending in a knockout. Fans have expressed concern about a potential cancellation of McGregor’s bout with Chandler following a postponed press conference Monday and a report the UFC was “sending out feelers” for a replacement fighter, though optimism has since increased following an Instagram post from McGregor showing him in training.
