Super Eagles Set To Clash With Tunisia, Uganda, And Tanzania In AFCON 2025

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The official draw for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations took place on Monday night, January 27, at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco.

Nigeria, three-time AFCON champions, earned their spot in the prestigious tournament by topping their qualifying group with an impressive 11 points. Their stellar performance included scoring 9 goals and conceding just 3 in 6 matches.

AFCON 2025 will kick off on December 21 and run through January 18, 2026.

The 24 teams were divided into six groups:

  • Group A: Morocco, Mali, Zambia, Comoros
  • Group B: Egypt, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe
  • Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania
  • Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana
  • Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan
  • Group F: Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique
