Rock Legend Jake E. Lee Shot In Las Vegas, Expected To Make Full Recovery

Rock guitarist Jake E. Lee, best known for his work with heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being shot multiple times in Las Vegas. A representative for the musician confirmed the incident in a statement to CNN.

"Lee is fully conscious and doing well in the intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery," the representative said.

The shooting occurred while Lee, 67, was out walking his dog, and authorities believe the attack was "completely random."

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department responded to the shooting around 2:42 a.m. on Tuesday in the 11000 block of Alora Street. “Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital,” the police statement read.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

Lee, a veteran rock guitarist, rose to fame in the 1980s while playing with Osbourne. He later formed the heavy metal band Badlands alongside former Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer. In 2013, he launched his own group, Red Dragon Cartel.

Fans and fellow musicians took to social media after the news of the shooting broke, sharing their support and well wishes.

“Thinking of and praying for Jake E. Lee,” said Mark Strigl, host of the Ozzy Osbourne channel on SiriusXM.

"Wishing my friend Jake E. Lee a full and steadfast recovery," posted agent David Maida on X (formerly Twitter).

Night Ranger guitarist Brad Gillis shared, “I just heard about Jake E. Lee. Glad to hear he is doing well. My thoughts are with ya, buddy!”

Musician Matt Gibson also sent his support, writing, “Love and prayers to my homie Jake E. Lee - get well soon, brother. You got this!”

Lee’s fans around the world continue to hope for his swift recovery and return to the music scene.
