UFC Star Jon Jones Pleads Not Guilty To Threatening Drug-Testing Agent
UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has pleaded not guilty to charges of threatening to kill a drug-testing agent. The charges stem from an April incident in which Jones allegedly threatened an anti-doping official while under the influence.
Jones, 36, faces two misdemeanors for assault and interference with communications. If convicted, he could spend a year in jail and be fined up to $1,500. Despite the allegations, Jones firmly denies any wrongdoing, stating he did not "threaten, get in anyone’s face, raise my voice to anyone, or engage in any form of assault."
During a virtual bond hearing in New Mexico, Jones entered his not-guilty plea. The judge granted his attorney's request, allowing Jones to remain free pending trial. However, Jones must adhere to strict conditions, including avoiding any illegal substances and not contacting the alleged victims.
A police report reveals that Jones was accused of grabbing the drug tester's phone and threatening to sue her and her colleague. The tester, who believed Jones was intoxicated, testified that Jones issued a chilling warning: "Why you f****** people come so early. Do you know what happens to people who come to my house? They end up dead."
The case continues to unfold as Jones prepares for his defense against these serious allegations.
