Floyd Mayweather Mobbed In London Over Political Comments

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather was reportedly targeted by a mob while shopping in central London. The former world champion faced a tense situation after a large crowd surrounded him and his entourage outside a jewelry store in Hatton Garden.

Wearing a green jacket and camo trousers, Mayweather appeared visibly distressed as his security team worked to shield him. Witnesses reported that a group of approximately 30 people taunted the billionaire athlete while his bodyguards struggled to usher him into a blacked-out SUV.

Videos of the incident, shared on social media, show the 47-year-old boxer shouting at the crowd before being rushed into the car, which sped off, leaving some security personnel behind.

A source close to Mayweather told The Sun that the boxer was "not touched" during the confrontation. However, one witness claimed Mayweather "took a few hits." The source explained that the incident was sparked by a question directed at Mayweather about his stance on Israel.

The source elaborated: "He said he was proud to support the Jews, and someone then took a swing at him. It looked very targeted. Floyd wasn’t throwing punches back; his security focused on creating space."

The confrontation comes amid heightened tensions related to Mayweather’s outspoken support for Israel. In March, he traveled to Israel, expressing solidarity with the country during its conflict with Hamas. On social media, he declared his allegiance to Israel, condemning Hamas as a terrorist group and advocating for the safety of civilians.

Social media posts suggested the mob's anger stemmed from Mayweather's comments on Israel. One user shared a video of the incident with the caption: "Floyd Mayweather chased out of Hatton Garden. Public angered by his support for Israel."

The source also claimed that members of the crowd directed racial slurs at Mayweather during the incident.

Mayweather has maintained his stance, reiterating his wish for peace and safety amid global conflict. His message emphasized humanity over politics: "This is not a time for politics. This is a time for safety first and foremost. God bless America. God bless Israel. God bless humankind!"
