Freedom And Fallout: Jude Okoye Released After Two Months In EFCC Custody
Jude Okoye, elder brother and former manager of the legendary music duo P-Square, has regained his freedom after spending over two months in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
His release sparked an emotional reaction online, especially from his younger brother, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, who celebrated the moment with a passionate Instagram post.
“Jude is finally out after 2 months+… all their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed. Welcome home brother @judeengees. And happy birthday,” Paul wrote in his Instagram story.
He also shared a heartwarming video capturing the moment Jude’s wife, Ifeoma, welcomed him home with a tight embrace.
However, Paul’s message seemed to carry more than just relief—it hinted at deeper tensions within the family, particularly with his twin brother, Peter Okoye.
Jude’s legal troubles began when Peter reportedly filed a petition against him, prompting the EFCC to charge him with alleged money laundering involving a staggering sum of ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
He was arraigned on Wednesday alongside his company, Northside Music Limited, on seven counts filed by the EFCC. Jude has denied all allegations. Though granted bail on March 6, he remained in custody while working to meet the bail conditions—until now.
His return home marks not just a legal victory but also shines a spotlight on the ongoing family rift that has played out in public view for years.
