Diddy's Upcoming Trial: Jury To Face Explicit Content In High-Stakes Case
The highly anticipated trial of music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is set to begin in just a few weeks, attracting increased attention. A recently filed jury questionnaire, submitted by Diddy’s legal team late Friday, reveals that jurors may be shown explicit material linked to the case, including the infamous “freak off” tapes.
As reported by the Associated Press, the questionnaire contains questions aimed at assessing potential jurors' comfort levels with viewing explicit content, such as videos depicting sexual acts or physical assault. It also explores jurors' attitudes toward individuals with multiple sexual partners. The document includes more than 70 questions, many with multiple subparts.
Prosecutors have raised concerns over the length and complexity of the questionnaire, arguing that it could confuse potential jurors.
Diddy is facing five federal charges, including two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, and one count of racketeering. Three of these charges were filed in September, with two additional counts added earlier this month. The 54-year-old music producer has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Federal prosecutors claim that Diddy orchestrated a pattern of illicit activities over several years, including organizing so-called "freak offs"—group sex encounters involving Diddy, a woman, and a male sex worker, which were reportedly recorded.
Amidst trial preparations, speculation is mounting over whether Diddy will expand his legal team. Criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos, known for cohosting the “2 Angry Men” podcast, recently sidestepped questions from TMZ’s Harvey Levin about potentially joining Diddy’s defense team.
The trial’s opening arguments are scheduled for May 12.
