Cassie Set To Testify Under Her Real Name In Explosive Federal Trial Against Diddy

Disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is heading to federal court, and his former partner Cassie Ventura is set to take the stand — under her real name.

In a motion filed Friday, April 4, prosecutors revealed that "Victim-1" in the case, identified as Ventura, 38, will testify openly in the upcoming trial where Combs faces a string of serious charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution.

"She is prepared to testify under her own name," the filing states. Meanwhile, Victim-2, Victim-3, and Victim-4 have requested to remain anonymous, asking the court to protect their identities from public exposure.

Prosecutors have asked the court to allow these women to be referred to only by pseudonyms throughout the trial and to bar the defense from releasing any identifying information.

"This case has already received an exceptional amount of media coverage, which will presumably only increase as the trial proceeds," prosecutors noted. "Permitting these measures will help prevent unnecessary public exposure, harassment by the media, undue embarrassment, and other harmful consequences for the victims."

Combs, 55, was first charged in September 2024 with three counts including sex trafficking and racketeering. A new indictment unsealed on April 4 in New York added further charges tied to a second victim, including an additional count of sex trafficking and transporting individuals for prostitution.

According to prosecutors, Combs and his associates lured victims under the guise of romantic relationships before allegedly using “force, threats of force, and coercion” to involve them in what were described as “freak offs” — elaborate and orchestrated sex acts that he allegedly forced others to participate in.

The most recent charge accuses Combs of using fraud and coercion to recruit and exploit Victim-2 for commercial sex acts, with full knowledge that she was being forced into those acts against her will.

Cassie Ventura first made headlines in May 2024 when CNN released surveillance footage allegedly showing Combs attacking her in a Los Angeles hotel back in March 2016. In the video, Combs is seen chasing Ventura, grabbing her by the neck, throwing her to the ground, kicking her, and taking her purse and luggage.

The disturbing footage aligned with claims Ventura made in a November 2023 lawsuit, which has since been settled.

As Combs' legal troubles mount, Ventura’s decision to testify publicly marks a pivotal moment in a case that continues to send shockwaves through the music industry and beyond.
