Peter Okoye Responds To Brother Paul's Songwriting Claims, Accuses Him Of Disrespect

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has responded to his twin brother Paul Okoye's recent claims that he was the primary songwriter for most of the songs they performed as the iconic PSquare duo.

In an open letter shared on social media this morning, Peter expressed his frustration with Paul's ongoing statements in interviews, where Paul has repeatedly taken sole credit for writing their songs. Peter argued that this narrative is misleading and unfair. He emphasized that whenever he spoke about their work as PSquare, he always used inclusive language like "we" and "us." However, according to Peter, Paul consistently claimed individual credit for the songs, even when Peter was present.

Peter accused Paul of not only disrespecting his contributions but also disrespecting his wife, family, and ideas. He further alleged that Paul had teamed up with their elder brother and former manager, Jude, to undermine him.

“What do you truly gain by constantly disrespecting and belittling me? You have disrespected my wife, disrespected my family, disrespected my talent, disrespected my ideas, and even sided with Jude when he was clearly trying to oppress me,” Peter wrote in his letter.

He also suggested that Paul's actions were intended to turn their fans against him. However, Peter noted that their fans loved them because of their unique synergy as a duo, not just for their individual talents.

Peter concluded by stating that he would address reports of him dragging Paul and their elder brother Jude to the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) before the end of today, August 12.
