Travis Scott paid tribute to the students of Santa Fe High School during Thursday’s Houston Rockets game against the Golden State Warriors.

Following a moment of silence at Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, the Houston rapper turned the spotlight on the senior class at Santa Fe High School, where the latest mass school shooting took place. He got on the mic and delivered a powerful message to the students in the crowd.

“To the Santa Fe seniors, to the amazing officers, to the principals, we love you,” said Scott. “Y’all the strongest people on this Earth. Thank you for being the heroes for all of us.”

It marked the Rockets’ first game at the Toyota Center following the tragedy where a gunman opened fire at the high school and killed 10 people, including 8 students.

Scott, whose upcoming album AstroWorld is named after a defunct Houston theme park, has maintained close ties to his hometown. In February, he was given the key to Missouri City, Texas. “This place right here gave me all my ideas,” he said. “It’s still the driving focus of what I’m doing now with music and design, and whatever I’m doing. I owe everything to the city.”
