Beyonce and Jay-z hardly spend time on their new 26million dollars mansion
Beyoncé and Jay-Z recently paid $26 million for their East Hampton dream home, but their new neighbors — including Steven Spielberg and billionaire Ronald Perelman — may not see them very often this summer.
The power couple launch their international OTR II tour in Europe next month — and we hear they haven’t done much to their new seven-bedroom waterfront mansion at 81 Briar Patch Road on Georgica Pond. “It was pretty much turnkey ready,” a source tells Gimme Shelter, adding that they’ll only need to spruce up rooms for Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir.
Fit for a queen (Bey), the mansion is rumored to have been built by New York’s original 19th-century starchitect, Stanford White, with a recent renovation from builder Jeffrey Collé, who reportedly rotated the home 90 degrees so that the living room would face the water.
Pond House — a 12,000-square-foot home that sits on two acres adjacent to a 17-acre meadow preserve — first went on the market for $39.5 million in 2009. Over the years, its previous owners passed over offers as high as $32 million, a source tells us. “They finally sold [last fall] at such a low price because they were sick of it,” the source adds.
Details include hand-carved, heated marble tubs, hand-pegged parquet de Versailles floors and “museum-quality” 18th-century Louis XV carved-stone fireplaces. There’s also a pond-side infinity-edged pool and spa, an outdoor grilling area, a wraparound terrace of Turkish limestone and a two-bedroom guest cottage on the property.
Hopeful housesitters better get in formation.
