A shooting occurred outside Drake’s Toronto restaurant leaving one person dead.

Police tell CBC that a 28-year-old man named Jaiden Jackson was at Pick 6ix, a new restaurant and sports bar co-owned by Drake and his security chief, Nessel “Chubbs” Beezer. He left with an unidentified woman around 9 p.m. and was seen walking near the financial district when a black Honda Civic drove toward them. Two men reportedly got out and opened fire.

Jackson ran into a nearby parking garage, but the driver and two gunmen chased him down. Numerous shots were fired before the suspects fled the scene.

When officers arrived, Jackson was in critical condition after being shot several times. He was taken to a trauma center, but died of his injuries.

Drake and Chubbs celebrated the opening of Pick 6ix, a joint venture with Canadian chef Antonio Park and Dutch businessman Sabah Nissan, in February.
