Laura Loomer Holds Private Meeting With Vice President JD Vance At White House
Far-right activist Laura Loomer met privately with Vice President JD Vance at the White House complex on Tuesday morning, according to multiple sources familiar with the meeting. The conversation took place behind closed doors in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Loomer did not meet with President Donald Trump during this visit and has since left the premises.
The nature and content of Loomer’s meeting with Vance remain undisclosed. However, her presence inside the White House marks another instance of her growing, if informal, influence within Trump’s political orbit.
Loomer, known for her provocative statements and strong online following, has played a controversial role in shaping personnel decisions within the administration. Following her previous visit to the White House in April, several National Security Council staff members she criticized as “disloyal” were dismissed. Additionally, both the director and deputy director of the National Security Agency were removed in the aftermath.
Despite not holding any official position or media credential, Loomer has maintained close access to the president and key decision-makers. She has acknowledged her influence, stating, “I do think there’s a fear that I may ask questions about the loyalties of people in the White House, and they fear me having a national and global microphone to ask those questions.”
Her public criticism of former national security adviser Michael Waltz, whom she accused of poor personnel choices, preceded his removal. More recently, she weighed in on the administration’s decision to withdraw Jared Isaacman as its nominee for NASA administrator, defending Isaacman’s credentials and questioning the rationale behind the withdrawal.
Loomer’s proximity to Donald Trump during the 2024 campaign was evident when she accompanied him on a high-profile trip on September 11. Her presence drew scrutiny, due in part to her past remarks suggesting the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job”—a claim she has since attempted to clarify.
“I’ve never denied the fact that Islamic terrorists carried out the 9/11 terrorist attacks,” she has said. “In fact, the media calls me anti-Muslim precisely because I spend so much time focusing on talking about the threats of Islamic terrorism in America.”
Though her role remains unofficial, Loomer continues to be a lightning rod figure with outsized sway in certain corners of the Trump political sphere.
