Bombshell Broadcast: Israeli Strike Hits Iranian State TV Live On Air
Iran’s state television network was rocked by a deadly explosion broadcast live during an Israeli airstrike targeting the country's media infrastructure, described by Israel as a "propaganda and incitement megaphone."
The blast occurred at the headquarters of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) while a presenter was denouncing Israel on air. Viewers watched in shock as she abruptly left the studio before the transmission was cut. Iranian reports confirm that several IRIB employees were killed in the attack.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had earlier issued a stark warning, declaring that Iran’s state-run television and radio networks were “about to disappear.”
The bombing marks a dramatic escalation in the ongoing conflict, as Israel intensifies its campaign of targeted strikes across Tehran. The mounting pressure appears to be pushing Iran’s leadership toward potential de-escalation. According to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal, Iranian officials are signaling readiness to negotiate—on the condition that the United States does not directly participate in the offensive alongside Israel.
Despite Iran’s overture, Israel shows no sign of letting up. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claim to have achieved “full aerial superiority” over Tehran and to have destroyed roughly one-third of Iran’s missile arsenal during a relentless four-day assault on rocket launch sites, military installations, and key urban targets.
For the first time, the IDF has issued mass evacuation orders for parts of Tehran. Video footage shows explosions ripping through the city, including a reported strike on a military base in western Tehran.
Meanwhile, the United States is bracing for further escalation, with the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz now en route to the Middle East as the Israel-Iran conflict teeters on the brink of full-scale war.
