Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Recovering In Hospital After Breaking Hip At A Concert

NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was hospitalized after falling at a concert Friday night in Los Angeles and breaking his hip. Abdul-Jabbar is expected to have hip surgery on Saturday.

"Last night, while attending a concert, Kareem had an accidental fall and broke his hip. He will have surgery today," Abdul-Jabbar's business partner, Deborah Morales, said via X. "We are all deeply appreciative of all the support for Kareem, especially from the Los Angeles Fire Department who assisted Kareem on site, and the amazing medical team and doctors at UCLA Hospital who are taking great care of Kareem now."

This is the latest in what's been a series of health issues Abdul-Jabbar has dealt with over the years, which also includes leukemia, prostate cancer and heart bypass surgery. 

Abdul-Jabbar had one of the most decorated NBA careers in league history, winning six championships, six league MVP awards and being named an All-Star 19 times. That's just the tip of the iceberg of Abdul-Jabbar's illustrious resume, who was -- and still is-- just as impactful, if not more off the court. Abdul-Jabbar has been a prominent activist throughout most of his life, using his platform to fight and speak on a variety of issues ranging from fighting for equality for Black people in America to publishing essays calling for college athletes to be compensated.

Characters In BBC’s Documentary On TB Joshua Unknown To Us – Synagogue Church

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members. NBA Suspends Canada’s Joshua Primo For 4 Games For Exposing Himself To Women

  The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior." NBA officials called his actions "conduct detrimental to the league." They did, however, note that they "did not find evidence that he engaged in any sexual or other misconduct apart from these brief exposures." "Primo maintains that his conduct was not intentional," the league said.
