TREY SONGZ SUED BY DETROIT COP OVER ASSAULT
Trey Songz is being sued by a Detroit cop who claims the singer assaulted him.
Sgt. Robert Avery says he was working crowd control at Trey’s concert at Joe Louis Arena on Dec. 28, 2016, according to TMZ. During the performance, Trey reportedly said, “If a ni**a cut me off, I’m goin’ the f*** crazy.”
The venue turned off the stage lighting because the concert had run overtime. As a result, Trey reportedly tossed heavy equipment off the stage and hurled a mic stand, which hit a photographer, who is also suing him.
Trey reportedly fought Sgt. Avery and punched him in the face after he arrested him and tried to take him into custody. The officer fell and hit his head on the concrete. His injuries included visible bruising and swelling to his right temple, as well as a contusion to his left forehead.
The cop claims Trey lashed out, saying, “F*** you cracker. White motherf******. F*** all you honkeys and f*** the police.”
The 33-year-old singer was arrested and charged with assaulting, resisting, and obstructing a police officer as well as aggravated assault. He pled guilty to two counts of disturbing the peace.
