President Biden Takes Aim at Trump's Rhetoric in San Francisco Fundraiser

President Joe Biden did not mince words on Tuesday night as he addressed a crowd of 2,500 wealthy donors at a fundraiser in San Francisco. Taking direct aim at his predecessor, Donald Trump, Biden criticized him for using divisive language reminiscent of Nazi Germany in dealing with migrants and labeling political opponents as 'vermin.'

Biden, visibly passionate, asserted that Trump was unfit for the presidency, stating, "There's a lot of reasons to be against Donald Trump, but darn, he shouldn't be president."

The president went on to express concern about recent polls showing Trump leading in a potential 2024 presidential matchup. Biden directly called out Trump by name multiple times during the 'super event,' receiving enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Drawing parallels to Nazi Germany, Biden highlighted Trump's use of the term 'vermin' to describe political rivals. "That goes back to the language you heard in Nazi Germany in the '30s. This is not the first time," Biden remarked, citing recent comments by Trump about the supposed poisoning of America's blood.

During a rally in New Hampshire, Trump vowed to "root out communists, Marxists, fascists, and radical left thugs" if re-elected. Biden condemned these remarks, emphasizing that such language has no place in American politics.

The fundraiser, hosted by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, was anticipated to generate over $3 million for Biden's re-election campaign. In his address, Biden did not hold back, addressing recent attacks on Nancy and Paul Pelosi. The crowd booed as Biden denounced Trump's jokes about assaults on the former speaker's husband, who had been in court that week due to an attack.

Reflecting on recent election victories, Biden asserted, "Since I came off the sidelines to go toe-to-toe with Donald Trump, we haven't stopped winning, and he hasn't stopped losing."

President Biden, currently on a four-day trip to San Francisco, is set to meet with China's President Xi Jinping, a crucial event during the annual summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum. While U.S.-China relations remain strained, the White House is optimistic about leveraging a robust U.S. economy in talks with other leaders.

In addition to addressing international issues, Biden faces domestic challenges, including homelessness in San Francisco. Advocates have urged him to witness the city's conditions firsthand during his visit.

The president's agenda also includes efforts to prevent the Israel-Hamas conflict from escalating and garnering support from Republican lawmakers for ongoing Ukrainian resistance against Russia's invasion.

As Biden navigates a complex array of diplomatic challenges, his San Francisco trip encompasses both international relations and domestic concerns, all while securing support for his vision of economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
