Adele's Candid Revelation: Her Sober Journey and Upcoming Celebrations

Adele recently unveiled a remarkable chapter of her life during her Vegas show this weekend. She disclosed that she had abstained from alcohol for three and a half months, a decision that marked a significant change from her earlier years when she considered herself 'borderline alcoholic.' She even confessed that this newfound sobriety had brought an unexpected element of 'boredom' into her life, while also acknowledging that she sometimes missed the allure of alcohol.

The 35-year-old singer shared, "I ceased drinking about three and a half months ago. It's been quite a dull experience. I mean, there was a time in my twenties when I was nearly considered a borderline alcoholic. But I must confess, I do miss it, and I even gave up caffeine."

In a light-hearted exchange with a fan who was sipping on a whiskey sour, Adele added, "So enjoy your whiskey sour. I'm very, very envious."

Adele has been candid about her past drinking habits. In March, she stunned her audience by revealing that during a COVID-19 lockdown, she once indulged in four bottles of wine before the clock even struck noon. She even held a glass of wine while making this surprising confession on stage in Las Vegas.

Recalling those unusual times, she told her fans, "I remember when I came here during the Covid lockdown, it was 11 am, and I had already downed about four bottles of wine – just like all of us."

Adele had a memorable evening in February 2022 when she was left in tears after a night of overindulgence at a gay bar in London. During this escapade, she stripped down to her bra, pole-danced on stage alongside topless dancers, took a tumble, and even addressed the BRIT Award controversy.

The "I Drink Wine" singer unexpectedly turned up at Heaven in London to join a large group of friends for the G-A-Y's Porn Idol event, much to the surprise of the venue's management. Despite giving up drinking in October 2021, Adele was seen in tears as fans cheered for her. She even engaged with the action, dashing from her VIP area to the stage, where she joined in on the pole dancing, causing quite a stir among the topless dancers.

While Adele has refrained from alcohol for some time now, she has a week of festivities planned in between her Vegas shows to celebrate her son Angelo's 11th birthday. This marks a lively contrast to her typically 'boring' weeks, often spent in seclusion at her Los Angeles mansion.

Adele revealed during her gig, "This week, my son turns 11 years old. Can you believe that? We have a busy week lined up to celebrate him. He takes his birthday very seriously, just like I do. It's a week-long or even month-long celebration, and I think everyone should treat their birthdays that way. From a very young age, he seems to have adopted the same viewpoint, although it's not as much fun. He's my son, and I adore him. He's already saying, 'Can I do this? Can I do that?'"

She added humorously, "I'm like, 'That's very expensive. You're 11; shouldn't we still be having tea parties?' But you know, 11-year-olds in 2023 are like they're 25!"

Adele recently recuperated from an illness that had her bed-bound for five days, and she humorously noted, "I got terribly sick. I'm a bit of a germaphobe. I hadn't left the house all week."

But for Angelo, her son with ex-husband Simon Konecki, it's a treat regardless of what he orders, as Adele mentioned, "I'm currently in a phase where I can't get enough of Chinese dumplings. I even had them for lunch. Having dumplings for breakfast sounds delicious."
