Biari was one of the leaders responsible for sending 'Nukbha' terrorist operatives to Israel to carry out the murderous terror attack on October 7th.'  Buildings have been levelled in the densely-populated neighbourhood, opening up huge sinkholes, with residents likening it to an  earthquake  and saying that the ground began to collapse around them.  Pictures show apocalyptic scenes, with scores of distraught onlookers gathered around two vast craters which some clambered into as they desperately searched for any survivors.  Meanwhile, dozens of white body bags have filled up the nearby streets, awaiting burial at the hospital near the encampment.  A Gazan health ministry statement said: 'More than 50 martyrs and around 150 wounded and dozens under the rubble, in a heinous Israeli massacre tha

Saudi Arabia Set To Host 2034 World Cup After Australia Decides Not To Bid

Image
Saudi Arabia looks set to be the host of the 2034 World Cup after the only other country to have shown an interest in hosting — Australia — made a last-minute decision not to bid. “We have reached the conclusion not to do so for the 2034 competition,” a statement from Football Australia said Tuesday, just hours before FIFA’s deadline for declarations of interest. It puts Saudi Arabia on track to host the global soccer tournament a decade from now — a move that’s likely to be seen as highly controversial. It would also make it only the second Arab Gulf country to ever host the World Cup, after Qatar did so in 2022. The selection of Qatar as host angered many human rights activists, who accused the state of abusing migrant workers, endangering the lives of the LGBT community and stifling free speech. Qatar pushed back by insisting that everyone was welcome in the country and denying reports that thousands of workers had died building the stadiums, but said that it was entitled to set i

Russian President Vladimir Putin chairs a meeting with members of Security Council, Russian government and law enforcement agencies in Moscow on Oct. 30, 2023. The U.S. rejected accusations by Russian President Vladimir Putin that the West and Ukraine had orchestrated an anti-Israel riot in an airport in the Russian republic of Dagestan over the weekend, calling the allegations “absurd.” In a televised meeting, Putin said the West and Ukraine had organized the “deadly chaos,” saying it is “the current ruling elites of the U.S. and their satellites who are the main beneficiaries of world instability.” John Kirby, spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, described the claims as “classic Russian rhetoric” and said “the West had nothing to do with this. This is just hate, bigotry and intimidation, pure and simple.” People shouting antisemitic slogans at an airfield of the airport in Makhachkala, Russia, on Oct. 30, 2023. Canada Withdraws 41 Diplomats From India

Canada said Thursday it had withdrawn 41 diplomats from India — fallout from a bitter row over the killing of a Sikh separatist on Canadian soil. New Delhi planned to revoke diplomatic immunity for all but 21 of Canada’s diplomats and their families by Friday, forcing Ottawa to pull out the others, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said. “We have facilitated their safe departure from India,” Joly added. “This means that our diplomats and their families have now left.” Relations between India and Canada have plunged since Ottawa last month publicly linked Indian intelligence to the killing of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar near Vancouver in June. Nijjar advocated for a separate Sikh state carved out of India. Canada has called for India to cooperate in the investigation but New Delhi has rejected the allegations and taken countermeasures, such as shutting down visa services  Ottawa also expelled an Indian diplomat over the affair. The suite of applications would be immediately removed from government-issued devices and users will be blocked from downloading them in the future, said a statement. Treasury Board President Anita Anand, who oversees Canada’s federal public service, said the nation’s chief information officer determined the apps “present an un No breaches have been detected but the platforms’ data collection methods on mobile devices, she added, “provide considerable access to the device’s contents.” “The decision to remove and block the WeChat and the Kaspersky applications was made to ensure that government of Canada networks and data remain secure and protected and are in line with the approach of our international partners,” Anand concluded. On the Verge of a Breakthrough: CRISPR Technology and Hope for HIV Cure

Image
In the wake of four decades and the devastating toll of over 700,000 lives lost to HIV, gene-editing experts are now at the precipice of a remarkable development. Three individuals in California have recently received a groundbreaking treatment, involving the introduction of genetic material along with an enzyme known as CAS9. Early studies indicate that this innovative approach has the potential to edit the viral DNA embedded in human cells, potentially eradicating HIV altogether. Harnessing the power of CRISPR gene-editing technology, a cure for the AIDS-causing virus may be closer than ever before imagined. HIV, which was once a near-certain death sentence until the mid-90s, has since become a manageable chronic condition for those with access to antiviral medications. Despite the availability of treatment, approximately 1.2 million Americans still grapple with HIV, as even with medical intervention, there remains a risk of the virus reactivating and progressing to AIDS.
