Cash Money Records changed the game. But before signing their huge deal with Universal and taking over for the ’99 and 2000s, in the mid-1990s, they were just a fledgling label trying to get it how they lived. Former Hot Boy, Turk recently uploaded a rare documentary on his YouTube page that showcases the label before their nationwide fame.

Featuring the likes of BirdmanJuvenileB.G., TurkLil WayneMannie Fresh, Slim and more, the nearly 40-minute doc takes viewers on a ride with the label in its early days.

All of the artists look remarkably younger, especially B.G. who was a teen at the time, and Lil Wayne, who was even younger. On top of explaining their come up, the video shows footage of them hitting the road. In one section, they travel to Atlanta to perform. In another scene, they go to Texas to spread their vibes.

If you grew up in this era, it’s kinda hard to watch this and not feel some type of way. Since the glory days that would occur shortly after this documentary was filmed, the label has reshaped over the years, with rifts with the original artists causing the founding team to split. Lil Wayne stayed the most loyal, but even he is now in the middle of beef with house that Baby and Slim built.

Despite having powerhouse artists like Drake and Nicki Minaj, nothing can top the feeling from the early days.
