Kendrick Lamar ended the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards just as triumphantly as he started them when he took home the trophy for Video of the Year on Sunday night (Aug. 27). The award, which was secured for him by his stellar “HUMBLE” video, joined his 2017 VMAs for Best Hip-Hop and Best Cinematography as the newest additions to his expansive trophy.

In winning the trophy for Video of the Year, Kung Fu Kenny beat out a star-studded field of nominees that included Bruno Mars (“24K Magic”), Alessia Cara (“Scars To Your Beautiful”), DJ Khaled (“Wild Thoughts,” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller) and The Weeknd  (“Reminder”). K. Dot takes no losses.

The stunning visual for “HUMBLE” was directed by Dave Meyers, TDE President Dave Free and K. Dot himself, and it was proclaimed as one of the year’s best visuals from the moment it was released. At the 2017 VMAs, it was clearly treated as such.
