Will Taylor Swift Attend The Super Bowl Today? What We Know As Trump, Jason Kelce Also Expected To Show Up
Key Facts
Swift, the wealthiest female musician in the world, was spotted having dinner with Kelce alongside his teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, in New Orleans on Friday night, NOLA.com reported.
Though Swift has not confirmed whether she’ll attend Sunday’s big game, she attended last year’s Super Bowl and supported the Chiefs at this year’s AFC Championship, as well as at several games throughout the regular season.
Swift is the subject of some of this year’s most bizarre Super Bowl prop bets on FanDuel—including whether Kelce will propose to her at the game (odds currently say “no”), the total number of times she’ll be shown on the broadcast and whether she’ll post on Instagram during the game.
Will President Donald Trump Attend The Super Bowl?
Yes, multiple news outlets reported earlier this week Trump plans to attend the Super Bowl, making him the first sitting president to attend the game. Trump hasn’t said which team he’ll root for, but he congratulated the Chiefs—and not the Eagles—on their Super Bowl berth in a Truth Social post. His appearance also follows a public clash with Eagles during his first term, in which most of the team declined to meet with Trump at the White House following their Super Bowl victory, causing Trump to call off the event. Trump had accused the team of kneeling or staying in the locker room to protest the national anthem, a then-heated debate spurred by protests against police violence, but CNN reported national anthem protests were not the reason Eagles players refused to meet Trump.
Who Else May Attend The Super Bowl?
Kelce’s brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce will attend the Super Bowl alongside his wife, Kylie Kelce, TODAY reported. USA TODAY reported Eagles fan and former First Lady Jill Biden will attend the Super Bowl alongside her grandson Hunter Biden, citing an unnamed source close to the family, but they will not be joined by former President Joe Biden. Bradley Cooper, a longtime Eagles fan and a regular attendee of their games, is also in New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl, where he brought a Philly cheesesteak food truck on Friday, People reported. Though it’s unclear whether she’ll attend the game, Lady Gaga was in New Orleans this week to film a performance as a tribute to the victims of the New Year’s Day terrorist attack in the city, NOLA.com reported. Cardi B is also in New Orleans, where she partied on Bourbon Street Friday night to advertise her Whipshots vodka-infused whipped cream. Actor Miles Teller told People he will be at the Super Bowl, stating the Eagles will “destroy” the Chiefs. New Orleans’ Fox 8 News reported other celebrities in the city ahead of the game include NFL players Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Joe Burrow and Russell Wilson, singer Ciara, NBA players Jalen Rose and Andre Iguodala, rapper Travis Scott and comedian Keegan-Michael Key.
Who Is Performing At The Super Bowl?
Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl halftime show alongside frequent collaborator SZA. Lamar has not confirmed what he’ll perform, but he told The Hollywood Reporter he wants to remind people why “rap music is still the most impactful genre to date.” Other performers include Jon Batiste, who will sing the national anthem, Louisiana natives Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle, slated to perform “America the Beautiful,” and New Orleans singer Ledisi, who will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the Black National Anthem. Post Malone will headline the Super Bowl YouTube Tailgate Concert, which streams live on YouTube at 4 p.m. EST.
Tangent
Kelce drew some scrutiny earlier this week at a press conference after he said it would be an “honor” to play in front of Trump, though he added he would feel that way “no matter who the president is.” Trump, however, has had a contentious relationship with Swift. After Swift said on Instagram in September she would vote for former Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump posted on Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Swift, who remained largely mum on the 2016 election, emerged as a Trump critic in 2020, accusing him of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism.”
