Taylor Swift Poised to Headline Glastonbury Next Summer, with an Open Slot Reserved on Her British Tour
Pop superstar Taylor Swift is being tipped to headline next year's Glastonbury as organizers strive to address criticism that the festival's top acts are predominantly "male, pale, and stale." Sources close to the singer of "Bad Blood" have indicated her interest in appearing at the festival, especially after her planned 2020 performance was canceled due to Covid.
Sharp-eyed fans have also noticed that the 33-year-old has kept a date open after the UK leg of her tour next year, coinciding with the final night of Glastonbury. Festival organizer Emily Eavis has already expressed her desire to have two female headliners for the 2024 festival and has confirmed that one of them has already been booked.
This year, Eavis faced criticism as all the closing acts on the Pyramid Stage were male, including Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses (whose lackluster performance drew particular criticism), and Sir Elton John.

A source close to the festival stated, "Taylor would be such a coup; she is exactly the progressive woman they want on the lineup." Taylor's UK leg of the Eras world tour is scheduled to begin on June 7 next year in Edinburgh. While she has two dates in Dublin on June 28 and 29, no performances have been announced for June 30, the final day of Glastonbury. After that, Taylor resumes her tour in Europe a few days later before returning to London in August.
Bookmakers have already placed Taylor as the favorite to be a headliner at Worthy Farm, offering odds of just 1/3. Dua Lipa is also speculated to be the second female headliner. Although she performed in Glastonbury's New Bands Tent in 2017, her chances for a more prominent set were dashed by the Covid-related cancellations of both 2020 and 2021.

Fans had hoped for a joint performance between Dua Lipa and Sir Elton John during his dynamic set last Sunday, as the two had previously collaborated on the chart-topping hit "Cold Heart." However, that collaboration did not materialize. Nevertheless, Dua Lipa will have a new album to showcase next year.
In addition to addressing the lack of female headliners, Eavis has also faced criticism for the absence of black headliners and for favoring older rock acts like Guns N' Roses over contemporary stars like Lizzo, who technically "co-headlined" on Saturday night but did not top the bill.
Other notable names being suggested for next year's event, which kicks off on June 26, include Madonna (despite her recent bout with a bacterial infection), Harry Styles, Coldplay, and Foo Fighters.
