German euthanasia group says people must get vaccinated against Covid-19 before they are put to death

A German euthanasia group has announced that clients must be vaccinated against Covid-19 before they can undergo assisted suicide. 

 

Verein Sterbehilfe, the German Euthanasia Association, issued a statement declaring that clinics will now only help those who have been vaccinated or recovered from the disease.

“Euthanasia and the preparatory examination of the voluntary responsibility of our members willing to die require human closeness,” the Association said in a statement.

 

“Human closeness, however, is a prerequisite and breeding ground for coronavirus transmission. As of today, the 2G rule applies in our association, supplemented by situation-related measures, such as quick tests before encounters in closed rooms,” the statement continued.

 

It comes as Germany faces a surge in coronavirus patients amid concerns that Omicron, a new, highly transmissible strain of the coronavirus spreading globally.

Europe’s largest economy reported 1,414 deaths in the week to 22 November according to data from the World Health Organisation, taking the total death toll above the 100,000 mark. Over 75,000 cases were reported in a single day on 25 November.

 

Germany overturned a ban on professionally assisted suicide in February 2020 to allow euthanasia to take place within its borders.

Characters In BBC’s Documentary On TB Joshua Unknown To Us – Synagogue Church

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members. NBA Suspends Canada’s Joshua Primo For 4 Games For Exposing Himself To Women

  The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior." NBA officials called his actions "conduct detrimental to the league."
