New York Rangers Set NHL Eastern Conference Finals Record With $2,100 Tickets
KEY FACTS
The average price for a ticket to the Rangers’ home game against the Panthers goes for $2,162, beating out New York’s previous three conference finals appearances, according to secondary-market ticket site TicketiQ.
By comparison, tickets during the Rangers’ 2022 series averaged $1,679—making it the second most expensive conference finals ticket price since TicketiQ started tracking ticket data over a decade ago—while Rangers 2015 conference finals tickets averaged $1,207, the third highest the site has ever tracked.
New York’s whopping average ticket price nearly doubles the cost of Dallas Stars Western Conference Finals tickets, which go for $1,181, on average, according to TicketiQ.
BIG NUMBER
$2,997. That’s the average price for a possible game seven home game in the Eastern Conference Finals, making it the most expensive game of the series. That nearly doubles the $1,567 average price for game one, and blows Florida’s home games out of the water. The average ticket price for Panthers’ home games in the series range from $717 to $977 depending on the game, with a get-in price starting at between $278 and $375.
FORBES VALUATOIN
We estimate the Rangers’ team value stood at roughly $2.65 billion as of December 2023, with an annual revenue of $265 million and a $69 million operating income—making them the second-most valuable team in the league, only behind the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Panthers, meanwhile, come in 29th on the list out of the NHL’s 32 teams, at a valuation of $775 million, revenue of $161 million and operating income of $6 million.
TANGENT
NBA Finals ticket prices have also soared, according to multiple ticket sites, with possible game one seats in Boston starting at $983, or $1,071 for a possible game one in Dallas, according to TickPick. If the Minnesota Timberwolves advance to the NBA finals, a game one home game would start at a whopping $2,140, as the team continues to turn heads on a generational playoff run.
