Russian President Vladimir Putin is under scrutiny yet again, this time for alleged war crimes committed during Moscow's ruthless assault on Mariupol. Human Rights Watch (HRW) has released a damning report, accusing Putin and his cohorts of orchestrating a campaign of devastation that left thousands dead, buildings razed, and Ukrainian culture systematically erased.

According to HRW's comprehensive analysis, the siege on Mariupol in 2022 breached international humanitarian law with its deliberate targeting of civilian structures. The death toll, estimated at 8,000, paints a grim picture, although the true figure may be higher, obscured by the rubble of destruction.

The report unveils a disturbing narrative of Russian forces encircling the city, launching a relentless bombardment to crush Ukrainian resistance. Witnesses describe Mariupol as a hellish landscape, ravaged by the brutality of war.

As Mariupol fell under Russian control, efforts to erase Ukrainian identity intensified. Russian authorities imposed restrictions on movement, imposed Kremlin propaganda in schools, and reshaped public spaces to reflect Moscow's agenda.

HRW's investigation identifies specific military units and senior officials implicated in the assault, suggesting direct involvement of Putin himself. This adds to existing warrants for his arrest by the International Criminal Court.

Despite Russian denials, evidence mounts against them. Reports of mobile crematoria and filtration camps raise alarms about attempts to conceal atrocities. Meanwhile, Mariupol residents face a forced assimilation process, with Russianization efforts aiming to erase Ukrainian heritage by 2025.

Mariupol's capture marked a turning point in Russia's invasion, signaling a shift towards eastern and southern fronts. However, the scars of war and allegations of war crimes continue to haunt the region, challenging the pursuit of justice and the preservation of Ukrainian identity.

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members.   The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior." NBA officials called his actions "conduct detrimental to the league."
