Ozzy Osbourne Accuses Kanye West of Antisemitism, Alleges Unauthorized Sample Use

Black Sabbath lead singer Ozzy Osbourne took to X on Friday to blast rapper Kanye West for using a sample from the band without permission, explaining in the all caps post that West was refused permission because he’s an “ANTISEMITE”— the latest criticism of West after he lost commercial partnerships over several antisemitic comments made over the course of the last year.

Osbourne said West used a sample from a section of a 1983 live performance of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” adding the sample wasn’t cleared because West is an antisemite and “has caused untold heartache to many.”

The sample was used in an unreleased song played at an album release party Thursday night, according to Osbourne, who was referencing a listening party for West and Ty Dolla $ign’s upcoming album, “Vultures,” in Chicago.

It is unclear if Osbourne will take any legal action against West, who the English musician said he wanted “NO ASSOCIATION” with at the end of his tweet.

Representatives for Osbourne and West didn’t immediately respond to Forbes’ request for comment.

Some users on X, formerly known as Twitter, were quick to criticize Osbourne, pointing out that he and his wife, Sharon, dressed up as West and his wife, Bianca Censori, for Halloween last year.

West was worth an estimated $1.8 billion in 2021 and $2 billion in 2022 before dropping off the Forbes billionaire list.  Estimated the rapper’s net worth at $400 million last April.
