Israeli attacks continue in Gaza

KEY FACTS

Citing hospital authorities in Gaza and its reporters in the enclave, the Associated Press reported two residential buildings and a former kindergarten-turned-shelter were hit in the overnight airstrikes.

According to AP, eight were killed in the strikes on the building while the shelter strike resulted in four more deaths.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry said Friday 107 people had died in the enclave over the previous 24 hours—although there are no specific numbers for Rafah and combatant deaths aren’t separated.

In a White House press conference Thursday evening, Biden delivered his most scathing criticism of Israel’s military campaign yet, saying: "I'm of the view, as you know, that the conduct of the response in the Gaza Strip has been over the top." The president said he has been pushing for a deal to allow the release of hostages and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

Earlier on Thursday, the State Department also warned Israel against expanding its offensive into the southern city. Spokesperson Vedant Patel told reporters Washington had not seen any evidence of serious planning for a military offensive in Rafah, adding: “Such an operation right now with no planning and little thought in an area where there is sheltering of a million people would be a disaster.” Previously, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said an offensive into Rafah would be “a disaster” and “not something that we would support.” More than half of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents have sought refuge in Rafah amid intense fighting in the northern half of the enclave. On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "There is no other solution but a complete and final victory” against Hamas in Gaza.

BIG NUMBER

27,700. That is the number of Palestinians who have been killed in Gaza since the start of the conflict, according to the enclave’s Hamas-run health ministry. The death toll doesn’t separate combatants from civilians but Gazan officials have previously said two-thirds of the victims are women and children.

Characters In BBC’s Documentary On TB Joshua Unknown To Us – Synagogue Church

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members.   The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior." NBA officials called his actions "conduct detrimental to the league."
