A 24-year-old woman who stabbed her 31-year-old boyfriend to death, has been convicted of murder.

Hannah Sindrey killed Paul "Dod" Fletcher at her home in Rayleigh, Essex, after a row through the night when he became paranoid she was cheating.

An argument erupted after Paul who had taken cocaine confiscated Sindrey and her friend Kelly Blackwell's phones.

Sindrey's two children and Blackwell's four children, who were in the flat at the time, were said to be "hysterical".

The mum grabbed a knife and stabbed her boyfriend, causing him to collapse in the hall. She then ran to the balcony with blood on her hands screaming: "He's been stabbed".

Paramedics raced to the house but sadly Paul couldn't be saved and was declared dead at the scene. Sindrey was also accused of trying to pin the killing on mum-of-four Kelly Blackwell, 26, who was jointly charged with murder.

Blackwell who was not found guilty following a trial, told jurors she heard her pal yell "you knew I would do it" as she waved the knife around the kitchen.

While being escorted from the dock at Basildon Crown Court on Thursday January 20 after she was convicted of murder, Sindrey yelled;

"F*** him. That's what I think. F*** him. I don't give a f***. F***ed off."

Speaking after the verdict, Julie Gowen, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said;

This has been a challenging and intensive investigation as my team tirelessly pieced together the hours and minutes which led up to the death of Mr Fletcher in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

“Sindrey’s actions have not only destroyed the lives of Paul’s family and friends, but also her own family.

“Today’s outcome can never bring Paul back, but I hope it can bring his family some justice, and can give them some peace to allow them to move forward with their lives.”

In a statement, Paul's family said:

“Our family have been devastated and are heartbroken following the death of Paul ‘Dod’ Fletcher.

“On the fateful night that his life ended, it destroyed so many other lives as well."
