Ice Cube has claimed that his Friday costar Chris Tucker turned down $12 million to reprise his role in the sequel.

 

The 1995 comedy was a hit, spawning two sequels: 2000's Next Friday and 2002's Friday After Next. Tucker, however, did not return to play Smokey in the subsequent films because of what Ice Cube, who was also a producer on the movies, said were "religious reasons."

Ice Cube who responded to being asked if Tucker "quit over money" reasons on Wednesday  December 29, tweeted; 

 

"We were ready to pay Chris Tucker $10-12m to do Next Friday but he turned us down for religious reasons. He didn't want to cuss or smoke weed on camera anymore."

Tucker also mentioned other reasons for his decision not to go back to Friday, saying, "I never thought about doing sequels. I always wanted to do a good job and keep moving to the next movie."

 

The actor starred in three Rush Hour movies with costar Jackie Chan, plus films like 1997's The Fifth Element and 2012's Silver Linings Playbook.

On coming back for a long-rumored fourth Friday movie, Tucker said he would "definitely consider it."

 

He said; 

 

"I always said — because I know my fans love the movies so much [and] they always bring it up — I said, well, if they come to me with a great script and a great idea, I'd definitely consider it.

 "But it's been so long ago and that character became such a great character. I don't wanna mess it up."

Characters In BBC’s Documentary On TB Joshua Unknown To Us – Synagogue Church

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members. NBA Suspends Canada’s Joshua Primo For 4 Games For Exposing Himself To Women

  The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior." NBA officials called his actions "conduct detrimental to the league." They did, however, note that they "did not find evidence that he engaged in any sexual or other misconduct apart from these brief exposures."
