Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has revealed how injuries was a major set back to his blistering career after a witch doctor alerted him that he was cursed by a spiritualist. The ex-France international admitted that he did not follow the advice of the witch-doctor to sacrifice the cow only to notice a decline in his Chelsea career.

The 46-year-old was part of the Arsenal team that won double in 1998. He also scored a goal in France’s 3-0 victory against Brazil in the World Cup final that same year.

The midfielder moved from Arsenal to Barcelona in 2000 and later made a switch to Chelsea a year after. However, he suffered a series of injuries and was released by the Blues in 2004 and he later announced his retirement in 2005.

Petit told French TV station SFR Sport where he is currently working as a pundit how an African spiritualist destroyed his career.
The midfielder said: “I had a curse put on me. After the 2002 World Cup I was on a beach on the Cote d’Azur". "There are rumours going around that a marabout has put an evil spell on you. People are jealous of you, and a serious injury will end your career.," he added.
