Rauf Aregbesola, the newly appointed Minister of Interior Affairs, says he does not know anything about the Ministry. He was appointed as the Minister of Interior by President Buhari on Wednesday August 21st.
Shortly after his portfolio was assigned to him, Aregbesola visited the headquarters of the Ministry in Abuja where he told the staff that he knows next to nothing about the Ministry. The former governor told the staff that apart from stories about the ministry on the pages of the Newspaper, he had no idea about the operations and policies of the Ministry.
“My relationship with the ministry is distant. What I know about the ministry is what I read in the Newspapers,” he told the staff

He left the Ministry's headquarters and informed the staff that he will be taking over on Monday August 26th.
The Federal Ministry of the Interior is a part of the Federal Ministries of Nigeria tasked with the responsibility of providing complementary Internal security and other support services within Nigeria.
