A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has set aside July 31st as the day to deliver judgment in the trial of seven persons arrested in connection with the murder of four students of the University of Port Harcourt in Aluu community on October 5th 2012.
The four male students namely Ugonna Obuzor, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa and Tekena Elkanah, were brutally murdered by members of Aluu community in the Obio-Apkor Local Government Area of Rivers, over allegations that they were thieves.
They were stripped naked, severely beaten and then burnt to death. 12 persons were initially arrested but in January this year, 5 persons were discharged and acquitted.
The court was scheduled to deliver judgment today but the trial Judge, Ledan Nyordee, was slightly indisposed. He adjourned judgment till July 31st.
