The Little Mermaid Star Halle Bailey Reveals The Sweet Advice Beyoncé Gave Her After She Signed To The Singer's Management Company
The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey has expressed her gratitude to Beyoncé for mentoring her at the beginning of her showbusiness career.
The rising actress, 23, who signed to Beyoncé's management company in 2018, said the superstar's guidance meant the world to her when she was starting out.
'I think with Beyoncé, you really learn by watching her, and the example of the human being she is,' she told The Daily Telegraph on Saturday.
'Seeing how hard she works and how kind she is. She's one of those people who is very humble and doesn't like to say, "do this!". It's very much – "I'm proud of you, spread your wings and fly".'
Halle said she loved playing Ariel in the Disney movie, as her mermaid character embarks on a journey of growth similar to her own.

'She taught me a lot about myself, what I am capable of – I approached it from that mindset, allowing her to teach me.'
Halle, who was recently in Sydney for the Australian premiere of The Little Mermaid, performs with her older sister Chloe, 24, in the R&B group Chloe x Halle.
Earlier this month, Halle and co-star Melissa McCarthy were mobbed by fans outside of the Channel Seven Studios in Sydney's Martin Place.

The actresses made an appearance live on Sunrise to promote the live action remake ahead of the film's Australian premiere in the city.
Halle and Melissa, 52, appeared in high spirits as they greeted their eager fans, happily signing autographs and taking selfies with the crowd who had gathered outside.
Some punters dressed up as the iconic Little Mermaid characters, while others wore face paint and got storybooks signed.
The Little Mermaid is the beloved fairytale of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure, based on the classic story by Hans Christen Anderson.
