Oprah Winfrey Sells A House Next To Her Massive Montecito Estate For $14.23 Million

The California property includes a mid-century home, a pool and a tennis court

rah Winfrey has been making some multimillion-dollar adjustments to her real estate portfolio, having unloaded a $14.23 million mansion in the celebrity-packed Californian enclave of Montecito

Ms. Winfrey, 69, doubled her money on the ranch-style residence, which she snapped up in 2005 for $7 million using a limited liability company linked to her network, records with PropertyShark show.

Due to the off-market nature of the deal, little is publicly known about the four-bedroom property.

Past listing information details a 3,376-square-foot home built in 1951 and sitting on 5.6 acres of land that boasts a lawn, a pool and a tennis court.

Mansion Global couldn’t identify the buyer of the home, which is listed in records as a family trust. But according to Dirt, which first reported the news of the sale, the new owner is Hollywood film producer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber, whose credits include “Red Notice,” “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” and “We’re the Millers.”

A representative for the filmmaker couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Ms. Winfrey seems to be a fan of lowkey real estate transactions. Last summer she quietly sold another Montecito residence for $14.75 million to fellow A-lister Jennifer Aniston, Mansion Global reported in September

The entertainment maven still retains a property in the star-studded spot though, and a big one at that. Across the street from this most-recently sold ranch is her 66-acre compound that’s been dubbed “Promised Land.”

It’s no secret that Montecito is beloved by celebrities and royalty alike. Its reported residents include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Ariana Grande and Gwyneth Paltrow.

A representative for Ms. Winfrey couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
