A Nigerian healthcare worker, Ugonwa Okeke has died of Coronavirus in New Jersey. U.S.A

The graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) relocated to America few years ago in search of greener pasture. She was firmly on the path to achieving great success in her chosen career as a health care provider in New Jersey but unfortunately, that dream was cut short by Coronavirus.

Friends and family members took to Facebook to mourn the mother of two. Samson Idonigie broke the news of her death on his Facebook, adding that she died while saving others.
“With sad heart we announce the death of our own Ugonwa Okeke (Heath Care Worker) New Jersey of Covid-19,” he wrote.

Suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reportedly killed the traditional ruler of Kinnari, a remote village in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State. The brutal attack took place on the night of Friday, August 1, around 9:00 p.m., when the insurgents stormed the village and gunned down the 65-year-old village head, Goni Kinnari, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama. Following the incident, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, swiftly mobilised to the area and successfully repelled the attackers. The remains of the slain traditional leader were evacuated to the General Hospital in Damasak, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
