President Donald Trump has been silent about his scheduled meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Unlike the norm with the American President who is known to tweet about meetings with world leaders ahead of schedule, Trump has been silent on his meeting with Buhari, which is scheduled to hold at 6.30pm West African time at the White House on Monday (today). As at 17.22pm West African time, the last tweet by Trump was four hours old.

So far on Monday (today), Trump has tweeted about several issues, including the North/South Korea issues, White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and others.

This is contrary to the American President’s penchant for using his Twitter handle to herald his meetings with visiting leaders, sharing his thoughts about such visits and what he hopes for.

The White House, however, saved the day, as it tweeted, barely an hour to the meeting: “Today, President Trump will welcome President Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the White House.”
