11 People Fall Sick After Suspicious Letter Opened at US Military Base

An envelope containing an “unknown substance” was opened at a US base near Washington on Tuesday, leaving 11 people sick, including military personnel, the Marine Corps said.
The envelope, which was received at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall around 3:30pm (2030 GMT), led to an evacuation of the building, the US Marine Corps said in a statement.
“Shortly after receiving the letter, 11 people started to feel ill,” three of whom were “transported in stable condition for further medical evaluations,” it said.
“Joint Base Police Department officials are working with local HAZMAT teams, NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigation Service) and the FBI. The building was screened and cleared,” it said.
CNN reported that a corporal, gunnery sergeant and a colonel complained of a “burning sensation” on their hands and face.
Marine spokesman Major Brian Block said it was too soon to say whether the incident was being considered a terror attack.
“It’s way too early to start speculating on any of that, we have to wait and let the investigators do their jobs,” Block told AFP.
Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall overlooks Arlington Cemetery just across the Potomac River from Washington.

Characters In BBC’s Documentary On TB Joshua Unknown To Us – Synagogue Church

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members.   The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior."
