The Turkish Parliament has officially ratified Finland's membership into transatlantic military alliance, NATO, making the path clear for Finland to join as its 31st member.   The Nordic nation had been ‘neutral’ on the world stage about military alliances until the war in Ukraine broke out.   After the war broke out, Finland and Sweden who share borders with Russia then raced to join NATO wary they could be the next targets of Russian aggression.   The Kremlin previously said the potential move was ‘definitely’ a threat which would be met with ‘retaliatory steps’.   On Thursday night, March 30, Turkey’s parliament ratified Finland’s application to join Nato, lifting the last hurdle in the way of the nation’s long-delayed accession into the Western military alliance. Anthony Joshua To Earn £10m From His Fight With Jermaine Franklin

Image
Anthony Joshua will earn a fraction of what he made against Oleksandr Usyk when he takes on Jermaine Franklin this weekend. The 33-year-old will be hoping to save his career following devastating defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, who now holds Joshua's former WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight belts, as he takes on Jermaine Franklin.   Joshua used to sell out Wembley and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but there are still tickets available for the O2 Arena clash just two days out from the April 1 event, according to Mail Online.   Joshua will earn significantly less than in his rematch against Usyk, where he walked away with £32.5million despite his defeat. Joshua earned around £15m for their first encounter, while in his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019 he pocketed a massive £66m.  Against Franklin, Joshua will have to settle for around £10m, with no belts on the line, and against a fighter involved in only one notable bout, a points defeat to Dillian Whyte in November last year. Image
The Russian federation will no longer notify the US about its missile tests and other nuclear activity, the Kremlin has announced. The move comes a month after Russian President Vladimir Putin officially suspended the last remaining nuclear arms deal with the US.   Nuclear notifications between both countries  had allowed Russia and the US to interpret each other’s nuclear moves for decades and differentiate test launches from missile attacks.   Russia halting its notifications could be its latest effort to push back against the US and its western allies’ support for Ukraine in the ongoing war.. After Putin's cancelation of the nuclear treaty between both countries Russian’s foreign ministry  said that Moscow would continue to inform the US about its planned ballistic missile tests. But on Wednesday, March 29, Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov indicated that they were going in a different direction. Asked if Moscow would halt missile test notices, Ryabkov said: ‘Th

Elon Musk And Other Tech Leaders Call For Pause In ‘Out Of Control’ AI Race

Image
Elon Musk and a group of tech experts are calling for a six-month pause in the training of advanced artificial intelligence models following ChatGPT’s rise – arguing the systems could pose “profound risks to society and humanity.”   The CEO of Twitter and Tesla joined more than 1,000 experts in signing an open letter organized by the nonprofit Future of Life Institute, which is primarily funded by the Musk Foundation.   The group also gets funds from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and the effective altruism group Founders Pledge, the European Union’s transparency register shows.   The letter details potential risks that advanced AI poses without proper oversight and calls for an industrywide pause until proper safety protocols have been developed and vetted by independent experts.   Risks include the spread of “propaganda and untruth,” job losses, the development of “nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us,” and the risk of “loss of

It added that tests showed he did not have COVID-19.

The Best Leaders Ask These 5 Questions Every Week, According To A Behavioral Scientist

Image
For  each of your direct reports , do you know what's going well, where they need your help, what their top priorities are, and what's coming next?  You should have up-to-date answers to each of these questions because you should be asking them every week. That advice comes from Jessica Wisdom, Ph.D., a behavioral scientist, and head of people insights at collaboration software company Atlassian.  Prior to joining Atlassian, she was co-founder and head of people science at collaboration company Humu, where she conducted a  survey of 350 employees and managers .  Surprisingly, the survey found that employees who had check-in meetings with their bosses every week felt better about those meetings than those who met with their bosses less often.  None of us wants more meetings in our schedules, but these results suggest that having these quick one-on-one check-ins on a regular basis, and ideally every week, may be well worth your time. It can lead to improved employee engagement,
