LASTMA officials were reportedly after an erring tricycle rider who tried to escape after breaking a traffic law. The van had reportedly been trailing a tricycle from Ikeja to the Allen avenue area of Lagos, after the latter broke a traffic law and attempt to escape the officials.

When the riders sped off in an attempt to escape, one of the LASTMA jumped out of his van, without informing his colleague and ran after the rider,Unfortunately for the LASTMA official, his colleagues drove off unaware that he had jumped off the van.

The officials, who were determined to arrest him, trailed the rider until their patrol van accidentally collided with his tricycle. The tricycle immediately lost control and fell by the road side while the angry rider pumped out of his tricycle and narrowly escaped his death.

A fight ensued between the officer and the rider who lamented continuous harassment by security agencies on the road. After the riders escaped, one of the LASTMA officials reportedly jumped off the van to run after the erring rider, an action which provoked other riders who have been complaining of LASTMA's harassment for a while.

Other riders soon joined the fight and teamed up to beat the unfortunate officer. The LASTMA official who had been unknowingly left behind by his colleagues who zoomed off in their fan was eventually rescued by police officers.
