Uber Launches Panic Button For Driver & Passenger Safety

Image
“We realize that a lot of situations and a lot of criminal activity arises when people think they’re not being watched,” Uber Director of Product Management Sachin Kansal told our correspondent “And we just want to say that we’re turning the lights on. Part of turning the lights on is providing these features to both sides and also make sure we’re making the entire community aware of the presence of these features.” The panic button has launched only in America as of now and can be activated by the safety icon in the bottom right corner of the app. Once clicked, users will be prompted to clarify the reason behind the call. Uber is working on having the car's location immediately given to dispatchers, as well as an option for riders to share the drives information with their contacts. The feature is being tested in seven U.S. states and should be available globally in due time.

Paris Jackson Says She Didn't "Storm Out" Of Fashion Show; Explains Reason For Leaving

Image
Jackson is clapping back at reports alleging she caused a ruckus before exiting. Paris Jackson attended the runway presentation for the Dior Resort 2019 collection, which was inspired by the Mexican tradition of Escaramuza, an equestrian sport. However, it was her swift exit from the proceedings that caught the attention of the press. A source for The Hollywood Reporter notes how "Paris Jackson arrived in a patchwork dress and red velvet sandals, but pulled a Kristen Stewart-in-Cannes move and removed her high heels before entering the show space barefoot. The vocal animal rights activist then stood up and left as soon as the horses entered the arena, appearing to be upset by the large crowd and loud music." Jackson addressed why she left the presentation, citing conflicting views with how animals were presented and treated during the runway extravaganza. Taking to Twitter, she argued "i did not “storm out” of the show. i quietly got up and walked out trying m...

Chris Brown Is Here For Drake & Pusha T Diss Tracks: "Where's The Popcorn?"

Image
The singer has declared the back-and-forth as the return of hip-hop. Last week, Drake unleashed the "Duppy" freestyle, sending shots at Pusha T and Kanye West and even sending them an invoice for "promotional assistance and career reviving." While it took a few days for Pusha T to respond to the disses, he did not hold back at all, coming out in full force in "The Story of Adidon," claiming that Drake is a deadbeat father who has a baby by a stripper. The cover uses an old photo of Drizzy in blackface, shocking many when it was revealed to be a legitimate photograph. As we sit back and watch their feud come together, it appears as though we're not the only ones. Declaring it as the return of hip-hop, Chris Brown was excited to see the back-and-forth between King Push and Drake unfolding. He made sure to voice his amusement on DJ Akademiks' post of the controversial cover art, sliding into the comment section and writing, "Hip hop is bac...

Rymir Satterthwaite says it's been eight years. Will there ever be a day when Jay-Z and Beyonce can enjoy their family life without outsiders trying to weasel their way in? Probably not. As reported by The Sun, a young man is claiming that he is Jay-Z's son, and that HOV has been abusing the legal system for eight years to avoid taking a paternity test. 24-year old Rymir Satterthwaite has been attempting to learn the truth ever since his mother told him that Jay was his father. Rymir's mother Wanda claims that she and Jay slept together in 1992 at his aunt’s apartment in Brooklyn. She says that they used protection, but it failed, and she had no way of contacting Jay after he began gaining success in the hip-hop world. Wanda's boyfriend at the time, Robert Graves, was originally listed on the birth certificate but he was removed in 2011 after a DNA test proved he was not the father. Wanda’s godmother Lillie was given custody of Rymir in 2010 when Wanda beca...

Trumps ignores Roseanne controversy at rally but attacks Jay-Z

Image
When Donald Trump took the stage at a rally in Nashville on Tuesday evening, plenty of people expected him to comment on the controversy that erupted when ABC pulled the plug on Roseanne in response to racist comments its lead, Roseanne Barr made about Valerie Jarrett on social media. He didn’t. A more responsible, respectable, decent leader of the free world would likely have taken the opportunity to condemn such a visible act of hatred from a celebrity, especially one who spends more time commenting on pop culture than he does about anything that actually matters. But especially because he so proudly and publicly aligned himself with the show that caused controversy with its offensive humor and hatred-tinged storylines since its premiere. The president, whose press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders basically said the POTUS had better things to do than comment on the issue (“That’s not what the president’s looking at…We have a lot bigger thing going on in the country right now...
