Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Bans Teaching of Black History

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, ardent Trump supporter and critical race theory opponent, has continued his attack on education in his home state. In a January 12th letter sent to the College Board by DeSantis' administration, a newly created Advanced Placement (AP) course in African-American studies was derided as unlawful and lacking "educational value".

The move is the latest in a series of increasingly bold and discriminatory public education bans instituted by the Governor.
