Security: Lagos To Build New Control Centre, Install Over 2,000 Cameras - Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says his administration has put certain measures in place to improve the security situation in the state.
He revealed that by 2020, the state government would build a new control and command centre, as well as install over 2,000 cameras across the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday explained that this was part of his administration’s safety project.
He said, “One of the things that we realised that is happening every in the world is that security is also going tech; you need a lot of devices to be able to monitor all of it.
“Next year, we are building what we call a new control and command centre as part of our safe city project, as part of our megacity security deliverables. We will have up to 2,200 high definition cameras across the state.”
The governor also gave an overview of his plan for the environment and called for measures to prevent a situation that could lead to a population explosion.
He noted that one of the efforts by his administration was to appeal to residents to ensure they register with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) for proper capturing and planning.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said the government has been sending out officials in the middle of the night to sensitise those living in shanties across the state.
On the contrary, he noted that they have moved in to pull down slums under the bridges, only to find out that such structures were rebuilt shortly after.
The Governor said, “Thousands of people come into the city without plans, and we do not have any border control to mitigate this.
“A lot of people come into Lagos and they really don’t even have a place (to stay). They do not have a means where the next meal is going to come from; they do not know where they are going to sleep and that’s the reality.”

Characters In BBC’s Documentary On TB Joshua Unknown To Us – Synagogue Church

  The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) has countered the BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN. SCOAN described the documentary against TB Joshua as unfounded, and that the characters interviewed in the report were unknown to the church. The church, in a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, said the statement was aimed at disabusing public minds from the report. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the BBC released a highly controversial and damning documentary on the late TB Joshua on Monday, accusing him of various crimes, including rape, against some members.   The NBA has suspended former San Antonio Spurs guard  Joshua Primo   for four games   ... after it says it found he exposed his private parts to multiple women. The league announced the ban on Friday morning ... saying an investigation into the free agent revealed he had "engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior."
